  • If produced in the course of employment, business, or profession, consistent with the purposes for which it was produced
  • For journalistic, artistic, or literary purposes

  1. WHAT IS OUR STANCE ON THIRD-PARTY WEBSITES?

Our Services may link to third-party websites, online services, or mobile applications and may include advertisements from third parties that are not affiliated with us. We do not guarantee the security or privacy practices of such third parties and are not liable for any loss or damage resulting from your use of these third-party websites, services, or applications. The inclusion of a link does not imply endorsement by us. We cannot guarantee the safety and privacy of any data you provide to third parties. Any data collected by third parties is not covered by this privacy notice. We are not responsible for the content or privacy and security practices of any third parties, including other websites, services, or applications that may be linked to or from our Services. We recommend that you review the privacy policies of such third parties and contact them directly with any questions.

  1. DO WE USE COOKIES AND OTHER TRACKING TECHNOLOGIES?

In Short: We may use cookies and other tracking technologies to collect and store your information.

We may use cookies and similar tracking technologies (such as web beacons and pixels) to collect information when you interact with our Services. Some tracking technologies help us maintain the security of our Services and your account, prevent crashes, fix bugs, save your preferences, and assist with basic site functions.

We also allow third parties and service providers to use tracking technologies on our Services for analytics and advertising purposes, including managing and displaying advertisements, tailoring advertisements to your interests, or sending reminders about abandoned shopping carts (based on your communication preferences). Third parties use their technology to deliver targeted advertising about products and services that may appear on our Services or other websites.

We recommend reviewing their privacy notice to understand how they collect, use, and share your personal information and to adjust your privacy preferences on their sites and apps.

  1. HOW LONG DO WE KEEP YOUR INFORMATION?

In Short: We keep your information for as long as necessary to fulfill the purposes outlined in this privacy notice, unless a longer retention period is required by law.

We will retain your personal information only for as long as necessary for the purposes set out in this privacy notice, unless a longer retention period is mandated or permitted by law (e.g., tax, accounting, or other legal requirements). No purpose in this notice requires us to keep your personal information for longer than the period during which users maintain an account with us.

When we no longer have a legitimate business need to process your personal information, we will either delete or anonymize it, or, if this is not possible (e.g., because it is stored in backup archives), we will securely store it and isolate it from further processing until deletion is feasible.

  1. HOW DO WE KEEP YOUR INFORMATION SAFE?

In Short: We aim to protect your personal information through a combination of organizational and technical security measures.

We have implemented reasonable and appropriate technical and organizational security measures designed to protect your personal information. Despite our efforts, no electronic transmission over the Internet or information storage technology can be guaranteed to be 100% secure. Therefore, we cannot promise or guarantee that unauthorized third parties will not be able to defeat our security measures and improperly collect, access, steal, or modify your information. You should only access the Services from a secure environment.

By using the Services, you confirm that you are at least 18 years old or that you are the parent or guardian of a minor who is using the Services with your consent. If we learn that we have collected personal information from users under 18 years of age, we will deactivate the account and take reasonable steps to delete such data from our records. If you become aware of any data we may have collected from children under 18, please contact us at info@kanboo.app.

  1. WHAT ARE YOUR PRIVACY RIGHTS?

In Short: Depending on your state of residence in the US or in certain regions such as the European Economic Area (EEA), United Kingdom (UK), Switzerland, and Canada, you have rights that allow you greater access to and control over your personal information. You may review, update, or delete your account at any time, depending on your country, province, or state of residence.

In some regions (like the EEA, UK, Switzerland, and Canada), you have certain rights under applicable data protection laws. These rights may include: (i) the right to request access to and obtain a copy of your personal information; (ii) the right to request correction or deletion of your personal information; (iii) the right to restrict the processing of your personal information; (iv) the right to data portability, if applicable; and (v) the right not to be subject to automated decision-making. In certain circumstances, you may also have the right to object to the processing of your personal information. You can make such requests by contacting us using the details provided in ‘HOW CAN YOU CONTACT US ABOUT THIS NOTICE?’ section below.

We will consider and act upon any request in accordance with applicable data protection laws.

If you are located in the EEA or UK and believe we are processing your personal information unlawfully, you also have the right to file a complaint with your local data protection authority.

If you are located in Switzerland, you may contact the Federal Data Protection and Information Commissioner.

Withdrawing Your Consent: If we are relying on your consent to process your personal information, which may be express or implied depending on applicable law, you have the right to withdraw your consent at any time. You can withdraw your consent by contacting us using the details provided in ‘HOW CAN YOU CONTACT US ABOUT THIS NOTICE?’ section below.

Please note that this will not affect the lawfulness of processing based on consent before its withdrawal nor, where applicable law allows, will it affect the processing of your personal information conducted based on lawful processing grounds other than consent.

Opting Out of Marketing and Promotional Communications: You can unsubscribe from our marketing and promotional communications at any time by clicking the unsubscribe link in the emails we send, or by contacting us using the details provided in ‘HOW CAN YOU CONTACT US ABOUT THIS NOTICE?’ section below. You will then be removed from our marketing lists. However, we may still communicate with you—for example, to send service-related messages necessary for the administration and use of your account, to respond to service requests, or for other non-marketing purposes.

Cookies and Similar Technologies: Most web browsers are set to accept cookies by default. If you prefer, you can usually set your browser to remove or reject cookies. If you choose to remove or reject cookies, it may affect certain features or services of our services. You may also opt out of interest-based advertising by advertisers on our Services.

If you have questions or comments about your privacy rights, you may email us at info@kanboo.app.

  1. CONTROLS FOR DO-NOT-TRACK FEATURES

Most web browsers, mobile operating systems, and mobile applications include a Do-Not-Track (‘DNT’) feature or setting you can activate to signal your privacy preference not to have data about your online browsing activities monitored and collected. At this stage, there is no uniform technology standard for recognizing and implementing DNT signals. Therefore, we do not currently respond to DNT browser signals or any other mechanism that automatically communicates your choice not to be tracked online. If a standard for online tracking is adopted that we must follow in the future, we will inform you about it in a revised version of this privacy notice.

California law requires us to let you know how we respond to web browser DNT signals. Since there is no industry or legal standard for recognizing or honoring DNT signals, we do not respond to them at this time.
